LESSONS
Develop feel, balance, and connection
Lessons at Seven Hills focus on the fundamentals that produce an effective, confident rider: balance, timing, and clear communication. Instruction is rooted in biomechanics and classical dressage principles, helping each rider understand how their position and aids influence the horse’s balance, rhythm, and way of going.
In-Person Lessons
Held at our Monroe, WA facility, lessons provide a quiet, focused setting for learning. Instruction is tailored to the goals and experience level of each horse-and-rider pair. Riders develop a secure, independent seat and soft, following hands that allow the horse to move freely and stay in self-carriage. Exercises build coordination, feel, and timing, creating a more consistent, confident connection. Lessons are available on your own horse (haul-ins welcome) or one of our well-schooled lesson horses.
Virtual Lessons
For riders outside the area, virtual coaching offers a convenient way to receive detailed feedback and guidance. Riders submit a short video for review, followed by a live or recorded consultation. Virtual sessions are useful for improving biomechanics, maintaining consistency between visits, or addressing specific challenges.
Every lesson is designed to improve both horse and rider, building strength, suppleness, and communication that carries through to every ride.

TRAINING
Programs to support the complete development of your horse
Training at Seven Hills focuses on developing horses that are balanced, versatile, and correctly conditioned for long-term soundness. Our methods combine classical dressage, biomechanics, learning theory, and horsemanship to create horses that move freely, think clearly, and approach work with confidence and ease.
We work with horses at every stage, from young horses beginning their education to those restarting, refining their foundation, or advancing up the levels. Each program is tailored to the individual horse’s temperament, history, and physical needs, with an emphasis on steady progress and a positive training experience.
Full Training (4 days per week)
For horses in active development, returning to work, or preparing for competition. Each horse receives four professional training sessions weekly, building balance, strength, and understanding. Owners are encouraged to take lessons to stay aligned with their horse’s progress.
Partial Training (2-3 days per week)
Ideal for maintaining fitness or complementing a lighter riding schedule. These programs blend professional training rides with instruction to support consistency and clear communication.
Personalized, Evidence-Based Training
Every horse learns differently. We take time to understand each horse’s physical condition, mindset, and learning style, using proven principles of biomechanics and behavior to guide their progress. This thoughtful approach builds confidence, responsiveness, and genuine enjoyment of work—creating horses that are both willing and capable partners.
Integrating Training and Rehabilitation
With a deep understanding of movement dysfunction, we help horses recover from injury or chronic tension through thoughtful conditioning, in-hand work, and correct ridden development.

Workshops & clinics
Expanding knowledge through evidence-based, horse-centered education
Seven Hills offers workshops and clinics for riders and professionals who want to deepen their understanding of correct, humane, and effective training. Each program integrates classical dressage, biomechanics, horsemanship, and learning theory to help riders improve their skills, develop their horses correctly, and support long-term soundness.
Participants learn how to apply biomechanics in both horse and rider to improve impulsion, balance, relaxation, and straightness. Instruction focuses on understanding why correct movement matters and how to achieve it through clear communication and thoughtful, consistent training. Riders and auditors leave with practical strategies they can apply immediately in their own programs.
CLINICS
Clinics are hands-on, ride-focused sessions designed to meet the needs of a specific group or facility. Each clinic includes mounted instruction and individualized feedback for every participant.
Clinics are suitable for riders of all levels and disciplines who want to refine their understanding of correct work and develop horses that are balanced, confident, and sound.
Workshops
Workshops combine discussion, demonstration, and observation to connect theory with practice. These sessions explore how biomechanics, alignment, and correct training techniques contribute to long-term soundness and clear communication. Workshops are ideal for riders, barn groups, or professionals who want to strengthen their understanding of how horses learn and move.
