Dr. Gerd Heuschmann’s final U.S. tour – Exclusive 3-day Pacific Northwest event

Don't miss your last chance to ride with and learn from one of the world's foremost authorities on equine biomechanics & classical dressage training

Seven Hills Training is honored to host Dr. Gerd Heuschmann for an exclusive 3-day clinic in Monroe, WA. As this is officially part of Dr. Gerd Heuschmann’s final U.S. tour, this will be his last appearance for horse training clinics in Washington State and the broader United States.

A masterclass in classical riding & horsemanship

Riding well requires more than mirrors and repetition — it requires understanding how your horse moves, why it moves that way, and how your position either supports or interferes with that movement. Dr. Heuschmann has spent his career bridging veterinary science and classical riding, and this clinic brings that rare combination directly to you.

About Dr. Gerd Heuschmann

Dr. Gerd Heuschmann is a veterinarian, biomechanics expert, and horse welfare advocate whose work sits at the intersection of equine medicine and horsemanship. Specializing in orthopedic diagnostics and the biomechanics of the ridden horse, he has spent his career examining what correct — and incorrect — training does to the horse's body.

Dr. Heuschmann is perhaps best known internationally for his unflinching analysis of modern training trends and their physical consequences for horses. His books Tug of War: Classical Versus "Modern" Dressage and Balancing Act: The Horse in Sport brought his veterinary perspective to a global audience and sparked conversations about horse welfare and training ethics that continue to this day.

Practical riding education for equestrians at every level

This clinic is designed for anyone committed to riding with greater awareness, empathy, and effectiveness — including:

  • Riders at all levels

  • Trainers & coaches

  • Biomechanics & movement enthusiasts

  • Bodyworkers & rehabilitation practitioners

  • Other equestrian professionals

His approach is rooted in the belief that good riding and good veterinary care are inseparable — that how a horse is trained directly determines its soundness, tension, and willingness to work. Through clinics, lectures, and hands-on training days, he has helped riders and trainers around the world reconnect with classical principles — not for tradition's sake, but because horses thrive under them.
