I understand and acknowledge that equine activities — including but not limited to riding, ground work, lunging, in-hand work, handling, and observing horses at close range — involve significant and inherent risks. These risks exist regardless of the skill level of the participant or the care taken by organizers, instructors, or facility staff. I acknowledge that the following risks are inherent to equine activities and cannot be eliminated:
Horses and other equines can be unpredictable and may react suddenly to sounds, movement, weather conditions, other animals, or unfamiliar stimuli
Horses may kick, bite, strike, rear, bolt, buck, or otherwise behave in ways that cause injury to riders, handlers, or bystanders
Falls from horses can occur even among experienced riders and may result in serious injury
Equipment, tack, and footing conditions may fail or contribute to accidents
Horse-to-horse interactions in group settings, including during clinic exercises at the instructor’s direction, may create hazards
Mounting, dismounting, and performing exercises at the clinic instructor’s direction carry inherent risk
Spectators and auditors in or near equine facilities may be exposed to risks from loose or startled horses, equipment, and facility conditions
I understand that participation in or attendance at this event may result in personal injury, accident, illness, or death, including but not limited to sprains, broken bones, concussion, head or neck injuries, paralysis, dismemberment, or death, as well as damage to or loss of personal property. No warranty, express or implied, is made regarding the habits, disposition, suitability, training, or physical condition of any horse or animal present at the event.
